Member for Hawkesbury Dominic Perrottet today announced work would start from Thursday 26 May on a $2.3 million project to improve the road surface of Pitt Town Road.
The project involves resurfacing the road and fixing pot holes between Windsor Road at McGraths Hill and Glebe Road at Pitt Town. Roads and Maritime Services sought community feedback in April on proposed work for Pitt Town Road.
Mr Perrottet said the NSW Government is committed to maintaining road infrastructure in Hawkesbury and north west Sydney.
“In Hawkesbury and throughout the north west most people need to travel by car or bus, so it is essential that our roads are kept in good condition, for the safety of the community,” he said.
“Pitt Town Road attracts heavy use, and this $2.3 million project will deliver essential maintenance to ensure it remains in good condition into the future.”
Work will proceed as planned including removing and replacing asphalt, repairing sections of road surface and line marking.
The essential maintenance complements safety work carried out on Pitt Town Road near Glebe Road earlier this month, which included trimming vegetation to improve driver visibility.”
The project will take 30 shifts to complete between Thursday 26 May and Monday 11 July, weather permitting.
Work hours will be from 8pm to 5am between Sundays and Fridays.
There will be some noise associated with the work however every effort will be made to complete noisier activities before 11pm.
Changed traffic conditions including lane closures and reduced speed limits may be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Road users should follow the direction of traffic control and allow extra travel time.
